It was a good run, but the LaSalle Royal Lions unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They suffered a rough 62-38 defeat at the hands of Westminster Christian. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for LaSalle in their matchups with Westminster Christian: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, LaSalle had strong showings from Melissa Carrasco, who scored 13 points along with two steals, and Caroline Barrabes, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and six steals.
LaSalle's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-6. As for Westminster Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. LaSalle will take on iMater Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. IMater Charter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 597th, while LaSalle is ranked 267th). As for Westminster Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Archbishop McCarthy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
