The Castleberry Lions lost against the Dunbar Wildcats back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Castleberry had to suffer through a rough 59-9 loss at the hands of Dunbar. Castleberry was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-0.
Ja'marion Garrett had a dynamite game for Dunbar, rushing for 125 yards and five touchdowns on only 13 carries. Ben Smith was in the mix as well, providing Dunbar with two touchdowns.
This is the second loss in a row for Castleberry and nudges their season record down to 2-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.0 points per game. As for Dunbar, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Castleberry will challenge Eastern Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dunbar, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Worth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Worth is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
