Cayuga had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Hubbard Jaguars with a sharp 18-1 victory on Monday. The Wildcats have beaten the Jaguars the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Jaguars has come to flipping the script.
Gus Wilfong made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.
