The Hernando Christian Academy Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 60-41 bruising from Seven Rivers Christian. Hernando Christian Academy has not had much luck with Seven Rivers Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carson Hedick, who scored 10 points. Another player making a difference was Caydon Williams, who scored 9 points.
Seven Rivers Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hendrix Loughridge led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Loughridge has scored at least 25% of Seven Rivers Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Richard Kilias, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds.
Hernando Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hernando Christian Academy will challenge Bishop McLaughlin Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Umatilla at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Umatilla focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Monday.
