La Vernia has won seven straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Calallen has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Bears will welcome the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. La Vernia is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 45.9 points per game this season.
La Vernia is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 51-33 victory over Somerset. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bears' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 369th).

TY CARTER
| 11/21/25 vs Somerset | 254 |
| 10/24/25 vs Jones | 249 |
| 09/26/25 vs Marble Falls | 187 |
| 11/13/25 vs Hidalgo Early College | 181 |
| 10/31/25 @ Floresville | 129 |
TY CARTER continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 254 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 15.9 yards per carry. Those 254 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. SEAN GARZA was another key back, rushing for 63 yards and one TD on only seven carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: La Vernia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 387 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 179 rushing yards in 20 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of CARTER, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Calallen against Canyon Lake on Friday as the team secured a 42-14 win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Wildcats had established a 21-point advantage.
La Vernia better focus on containing Connor Klostermann and Jimmy Tipton as the pair were huge in Calallen's win. Klostermann rushed for 85 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries, while Tipton rushed for 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Klostermann has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Drayson Gamez also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
Calallen didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. Gamez was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
La Vernia's record now sits at 11-1. As for Calallen, their record is now 10-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. La Vernia has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 264 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Calallen struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 247.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other football content.
