The Hillsboro Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. Their tough 50-24 loss to Alvarado might stick with them for a while. Hillsboro has not had much luck with Alvarado recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Despite the loss, Hillsboro still got an impressive performance from Nakira Blacknall, who scored six points along with two steals.
Joslyn Jarmon continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Alvarado, scoring 19 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Jarmon hasn't dropped below two steals for 23 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Makynna Baldwin, who scored seven points along with five steals.
Hillsboro has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-22 record this season. As for Alvarado, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-14.
Hillsboro will head out on the road to face off against Life Waxahachie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Life Waxahachie is on a seven-game streak of home losses, Hillsboro an 11-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. Alvarado will take on Godley at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Godley is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
