Chrisman is 0-3 against Iroquois West since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Chrisman Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Iroquois West Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Chrisman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
Chrisman's recent rough patch got a bit rougher after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Villa Grove, falling 83-43. While losing is never fun, Chrisman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while Villa Grove is ranked 135th).
Chrisman's loss came about despite a quality game from Connor Rhoads, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds. The match was Rhoads' fifth in a row with at least ten points.
Meanwhile, Iroquois West's 23-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell to Ridgeview 45-41. Iroquois West has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Martinsville's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Chrisman's loss dropped theirs to 2-2.
Chrisman lost to Iroquois West on the road by a decisive 51-34 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Chrisman avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
