WALSENBURG, Colo. -
Buena Vista (Colo.) took an early lead against John Mall (Walsenburg, Colo.) and held on for a 46-0 victory on Saturday.
The Demons put up 20 points in the opening quarter. Buena Vista scored on a touchdown run by
Toby Camp, a
Keegan Wentz touchdown pass to
Zakk James and a Wentz touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a Camp touchdown run in the first quarter, BV was up 33-0 at the half.
The Demons expanded their lead to 46 points entering the fourth quarter. Buena Vista scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Wentz.
The win brought Buena Vista's winning streak to four games. The loss was the third in a row for the Panthers.
In a 1A Tri-Peaks game next week John Mall (1-3) takes on Custer County, and Buena Vista (4-0) will go up against Salida also in a 1A Tri-Peaks game.
