After flying high against the North Vikings last Thursday, the Buchtel Griffins came back down to earth. Buchtel fell 55-42 to Ellet on Thursday. Buchtel has not had much luck with Ellet recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Caitlyn Holmes was her usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with four steals for Ellet. Holmes has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. Sanaiiya Gray was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Buchtel now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Ellet, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buchtel will take on Garfield Community Learning Center at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Garfield Community Learning Center is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Ellet, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mogadore at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mogadore is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
