Baseball Recap: Tocoi Creek Extends Winning Streak to Three

Tocoi Creek won the last time they faced Christ's Church Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Tocoi Creek Toros put the hurt on the Christ's Church Academy Eagles with a sharp 18-4 win. The Toros' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Nate Wade and Tommy Glasspoole made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Wade struck out nine batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Glasspoole pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance gave Wade a new career-high in strikeouts. At the plate, Wade scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Glasspoole went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

In other batting news, Karter Alvarez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Micha Hernandez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.

Tocoi Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .578. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christ's Church Academy only posted an OBP of .312.

Tocoi Creek pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs over those games. As for Christ's Church Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Tocoi Creek will challenge Father Lopez at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tocoi Creek is facing Father Lopez at the right time seeing as Father Lopez is stuck on a three-game losing streak. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Episcopal School of Jacksonville will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Christ's Church Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
