Julianna Galbraith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Holly White was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Skylar Gapol was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but St. Bonaventure ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 9-2 margin over Bishop Diego. Considering the Seraphs have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
St. Bonaventure also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Jessika Soliz gave up two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits. The dominant performance also gave Soliz a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Azaria Aguilar, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Leea Martinez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Royal now has a winning record of 6-5. As for St. Bonaventure, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Royal took their win against St. Bonaventure in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 17-2. Will Royal repeat their success, or does St. Bonaventure have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
