High-flying Fresno guard could face Marcus Bagley in the CIF playoffs.
The younger brother of Kings first-round draft pick Marvin Bagley Jr. is following him to Sacramento. Sacramento Bee ace reporter Joe Davidson
confirmed Friday morning that Marcus Bagley, a 6-foot-6 forward from the Class of 2020, has enrolled at Sheldon (Sacramento, Calif.)
, the defending Northern California Open Division champion.
As a freshman, Marcus Bagley averaged 3.2 points per game at Sierra Canyon, the team Sheldon lost to in the state finals in March. He transferred to Ravenscroft (Raleigh, N.C.)
last season — the Bagley family wanted to be close to Marvin while at Duke — but wasn't on the team's 12-man roster.
reports that Marcus Bagley has scholarship offers from three Pacific-12 Conference schools.
Sheldon coach Joey Rollings is confident Marcus will make an immediate impact.
"He adds a whole new dimension for us," Rollings told Davidson. "He's big. He can post up, he can shoot and he can pass. He can really friggin' play. I saw his highlights and thought, 'Oh wow!'
"We already have a great program. Our guys share the ball, play defense, play hard, and they're great kids. Marcus seems like aa really nice kid. It'll be fun to see how it turns out."
