On Thursday, the Belfry Pirates lost to the Calvary Baptist Academy Patriots on the road  by a   75-57 margin. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states  (they are ranked 190th in Kentucky, while the Patriots are ranked 30th in West Virginia).
 Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Carter Jude, who  went 7 of 12  on his way to 15 points along with six  assists and four  steals. Another player making a difference was  Ethan Diles, who  posted eight  points and four  steals.
  Bryson Childers continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Calvary Baptist Academy,  going 10 for 15  en route to 25 points and six  boards. Childers' evening made it three games in a row in which  he has scored at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Owen Good, who  went 7 of 9  to rack up 16  points and six  assists.
Belfry has  been struggling recently as they've  lost six of their last eight games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record  this season. As for Calvary Baptist Academy, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 12 of their last 13 contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record  this season.
 Belfry has already played their next matchup,  a  65-37  defeat against Tug Valley on the 8th. As for Calvary Baptist Academy, they also  wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  game,  a  60-50  win against Victory Baptist Academy on the 8th.
