Baseball Recap: Coudersport Has No Trouble Against Smethport

Coudersport's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Smethport Hubbers. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Mason Roessner, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradley Stilson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coudersport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Smethport only posted an OBP of .364.

Coudersport's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Smethport, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Coudersport will challenge Cowanesque Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Smethport, they will head out on the road to challenge Johnsonburg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.09 runs per game on average), something the Hubbers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
