Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, a fact Massaponax proved on Wednesday. They took down Riverbend 57-42. Given Massaponax's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Riverbend is ranked 130th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Takiera Ramey was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Massaponax's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Price, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Mountain View earned a 40-28 victory over Stafford on Wednesday.
