Brillion has gone a perfect 3-0 against Southern Door recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lions will face off against the Eagles. Brillion is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Brillion is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Kiel a 5-0 shutout.
Not much got past Grace Krueger, who gave up just five hits to keep Kiel off the board. Krueger has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Amaya Brooks was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Southern Door posted their closest victory since April 29th on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over Chilton. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Alanah Kaye and Samantha Melville made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Kaye pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Melville pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. At bat, Kaye went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Melville went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Melville has posted since back in April.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Audrey Plzack, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Southern Door's win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Brillion, their victory bumped their record up to 20-3.
Brillion skirted past Southern Door 4-2 in their previous meeting on May 5th. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
