5A District 9 recap October 1, 2013
Holy Cross's Will Turner rumbled for the longest rushing play in 5A District 9 this season in his game against West St. John last week. Turner scampered for 78 yards on the play and finished with 160 on the day as his team beat the Rams.
Jesuit was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Pensacola. The Bluejays came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 29 last week.
Holy Cross' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. James Tabary has thrown for 694 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Jerry Cook has 22 catches for 294 yards.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Holy Cross beat West St. John 23-0. The win marks fourth in a row for the Barry Wilson's team.
