On Tuesday, Macon County came up short against Greenbrier and fell 54-43. While losing is never fun, Macon County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while Greenbrier is ranked 174th).
It was another big night for Nolan Carson, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 17 rebounds for Greenbrier. Carson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mack Scurlock, who scored ten points along with five assists.
Macon County bumped their record down to 3-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Greenbrier, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Macon County will head out on the road to face off against Station Camp at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenbrier, they will be playing in front of their home fans against White House at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. White House will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
