Macey Kim made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Green, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Kim wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Bishop Montgomery kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Bishop Conaty-Loretto took on Lennox Academy on Monday. Bishop Conaty-Loretto was the clear victor by a 17-5 margin over Lennox Academy. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.
Jaslyn Sigaran and Lauren Castillo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Sigaran struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Castillo struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Sigaran has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Sigaran scored four runs, while Castillo went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Angelique Aguillon was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Kaylah Araujo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.
Bishop Conaty-Loretto's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6. As for Bishop Montgomery, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bishop Montgomery has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. However, it's not like Bishop Conaty-Loretto struggles in that department as they've averaged .491. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Bishop Montgomery's way against Bishop Conaty-Loretto in their previous meeting back in March, as Bishop Montgomery made off with a 7-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop Montgomery since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
