Baseball Recap: Altamont Has No Trouble Against Tintic

Altamont never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Tintic on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Miners. Considering the Longhorns have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Levi Scott made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Scott was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in August.

In other batting news, Keaton Huff was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Colt Duncan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Altamont is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Tintic, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-10.

Altamont will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Miners: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
