Softball Recap: Mission Valley Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

Mission Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Chase County Bulldogs with a sharp 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won nine games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Mission Valley got a massive performance out of Taylor Brammell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Brammell has posted since back in April of 2024. Kyplee Jacobson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mission Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Mission Valley pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Chase County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-3.

Mission Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair will be back at it again later today.
