The Memorial Chargers lost against the Holland Hall Dutch back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Memorial took a 55-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Holland Hall. Memorial has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Memorial lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mataya Hall. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 53.2% of Memorial's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Asia Roper, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Holland Hall, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Memorial will take on Coweta at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Coweta presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Memorial in Oklahoma (Coweta is ranked 71st, while Memorial is ranked 222nd). As for Holland Hall, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Edison at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
