Basketball Game Preview: Coram Deo Academy Lions vs. Fort Worth Christian Cardinals

Coram Deo Academy hasn't had much luck against Fort Worth Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Coram Deo Academy Lions duke it out with the Fort Worth Christian Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Coram Deo Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last 13 games.

Coram Deo Academy is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since December 11th on Saturday. It was close, but they capped 2024 with a 55-52 victory over Vanguard College Prep. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Vikings are ranked 593rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coram Deo Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Selah Johnson, who posted 22 points and eight assists. Johnson's afternoon made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Revering, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 16 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, everything went Fort Worth Christian's way against Meyer on Saturday as Fort Worth Christian made off with a 47-25 win. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 22 points or more this season.

Fort Worth Christian has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Coram Deo Academy, they pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
