Even though the BASIS - Chandler Bobcats have not done well against the BASIS - Scottsdale Bulldogs recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. BASIS - Chandler came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 55-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for BASIS - Chandler.
BASIS - Chandler found their leader in underclassman Kalan Karuppana, who scored 20 points along with four steals. Karuppana is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mathew Akpan, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
BASIS - Scottsdale lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nithish Prakash, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Prakash hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Shamoun, who scored 11 points.
BASIS - Chandler's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for BASIS - Scottsdale, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. BASIS - Chandler will play host again and welcome the Heroes, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for BASIS - Scottsdale, they and the Eagles will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Eduprize presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Bulldogs in Arizona (the Eagles are ranked 22nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 173rd).
