Brackenridge is 0-4 against Seguin since April of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Matadors at 7:00 p.m. Brackenridge has given up an average of 17.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Tuesday just wasn't the day for Brackenridge's offense. They lost 18-0 to Burbank on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seguin). They never let Jefferson get on the board and left with a 24-0 win on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Matadors sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
The team relied heavily on Brylee Wieding, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydence Mercer, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Seguin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .560. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .438 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Brackenridge's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Seguin, their victory bumped their record up to 17-10-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Brackenridge has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Seguin struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Brackenridge might still be hurting after the 17-2 loss they got from Seguin when the teams last played back in March. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
