Hernando has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. The Hernando Leopards and the Hudson Cobras will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hernando will be strutting in after a win while Hudson will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Hernando has not done well against Nature Coast Tech recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Hernando slipped by Nature Coast Tech 37-36. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Hernando has scored all season.
Hernando's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Leandre Wright , who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Rivera, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Hudson pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were beaten by Mitchell 83-55. Hudson has struggled against Mitchell recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Hernando's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Hudson, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-5.
Everything came up roses for Hernando against Hudson in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 67-25 win. With Hernando ahead 38-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.
