Even though the Cheraw Wolverines scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, the Springfield Longhorns still came out on top. Springfield secured a 64-60 W over Cheraw. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Springfield.
Springfield was led to victory by Colby Batterton and Cooper Stolebarger. Batterton scored 14 points along with seven steals and six rebounds, while Stolebarger almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stolebarger has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Leland Gable, who scored 11 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Springfield is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Cheraw, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-10.
Springfield will take on Kim/Branson at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cheraw, they will head out on the road to face off against Walsh at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cheraw is coming into the matchup with six straight losses on the road, meaning Walsh will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
