The Carrollton Trojans waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 66-62 W over East Coweta. Given Carrollton's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while East Coweta is ranked 134th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
East Coweta lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Qwes Williams, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Williams hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Carby Martin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Carrollton's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. As for East Coweta, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carrollton will challenge Langston Hughes at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for East Coweta, they will head out on the road to face off against Pebblebrook at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
