Beresford won against McCook Central/Montrose last week with 35 points and Beresford decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Beresford had just enough and edged out Groton 35-32. Groton can consider this payback for the 14-15 defeat they dealt Beresford the last time the teams encountered one another.
The win bumped Beresford's record up to 3-1. The loss dropped Groton back to even at 2-2.
Beresford will look to defend their home turf next week against Canton at 7:00 PM. Canton will need to watch out since Canton have now posted big point totals in their last 3 contests. As for Groton, they will face off against Chamberlain.
