Baseball Recap: South Central Turns Things Around After Road Loss

South Central's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Jacksonville on Friday. The Falcons blew past the Farmville Central Jaguars 15-9. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Brody Brannan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Brannan was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaiah James, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jamari Hukins was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

South Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

South Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Farmville Central, their record is now 10-8-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Central will head out to take on J.H. Rose at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rampants will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Farmville Central, they will head out on the road to challenge North Pitt at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
