The Puckett Wolves entered their tilt with the Pisgah Dragons with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Puckett secured a 50-44 W over Pisgah on Thursday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Javarius Fletcher continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 137 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Fletcher is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuelle Gray, who rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Pisgah lost, one person who can't be blamed is Paxton Cottingham. Despite the final result, he rushed for 196 yards and four touchdowns. Cottingham hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Caleb Grant, who rushed for 120 yards on only 13 carries.
Puckett's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points per game. As for Pisgah, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Puckett will be playing at home against Collins at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Hopefully Collins focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Thursday. Pisgah does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
