Kenwood has been on the road for two straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Patapsco Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Kenwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
Kenwood can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lansdowne 69-14 on the road. With that victory, Kenwood brought their scoring average up to 50.9 points per game.
Kenwood can attribute much of their success to Mackenzie Green, who scored 23 points along with four steals, and Diamond Watters, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Green has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalia Rideout, who scored four points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Patapsco's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. Their rough 51-29 defeat to Catonsville might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Patapsco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Comets are ranked 97th).
The win got Kenwood back to even at 7-7. As for Patapsco, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-13.
Kenwood came up short against the Patriots in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 33-25. Will Kenwood have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
