Maize and Eisenhower are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Maize Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Eisenhower Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Tuesday, Maize came up short against Andover and fell 57-50.
Meanwhile, Eisenhower took care of business in their home opener on Friday (barely). They came out on top in a nail-biter against South and snuck past 49-46.
Eisenhower got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Pierce Blue out in front who scored 19 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase George, who scored 15 points along with 5 assists.
With Maize's win and Andover's loss, both teams now sport identical 1-1 records.
Maize won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, slipping by Eisenhower 65-64. The rematch might be a little tougher for Maize since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
