Baseball Recap: Lake Country Lutheran Has No Trouble Against Heritage Christian

While Lake Country Lutheran put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Heritage Christian. The Lightning were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Patriots. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lightning needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Braden Theis and Jackson Menzel made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Theis pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Menzel tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Theis scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Menzel scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Theis a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, Lake Country Lutheran let Jack Poellot and Preston Manthei run wild. Poellot scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Manthei scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Manthei has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Snyder, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Lake Country Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage Christian only posted an OBP of .263.

The win got Lake Country Lutheran back to even at 1-1. As for Heritage Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
