The South Granville Vikings will challenge the Carrboro Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carrboro took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on South Granville, who comes in off a win.
South Granville is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Cedar Ridge 48-0 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Jaylen Wilkerson had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 127 yards and three scores on only 13 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Ashton Hailey-Alston was another key rusher, rushing for 82 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: South Granville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 261 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
South Granville's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece ( Tyrell Thornton and Timmy Stubbs also recorded half a sack).
Meanwhile, Carrboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by J.F. Webb 37-7.

South Granville's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Carrboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. South Granville has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 181.5 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Carrboro, though, as they've been averaging only 53.8 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
