In what's become a running theme this season, the Front Range Baptist Falcons gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They blew past Lone Star, posting a 64-31 victory on the road. Given Front Range Baptist's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Lone Star is ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Alex Prelog, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Stephen Manthei was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Grant Kuntz and Jesus Hermosillo certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Kuntz scored seven points along with 12 rebounds and four steals, while Hermosillo scored 11 points. Kuntz hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Front Range Baptist's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Lone Star, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Front Range Baptist will face off against Loveland Protestant Reformed Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lone Star, they will head out on the road to take on Idalia at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Idalia has five straight wins, Lone Star has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
