Wake Forest's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They breezed past the Wakefield Wolverines to the tune of 42-7. The Cougars' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Leading Wake Forest to victory were Micah Olu and Landen Perry. Olu rushed for 185 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, while Perry rushed for 69 yards and two TDs. What's more, Olu posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Owen McNair, who rushed for 58 yards and one touchdown.

Wake Forest's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Wakefield, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Wake Forest didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-7 defeat against Hillside on the 18th. As for Wakefield, they will head out on the road to square off against Leesville Road at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Wolverines their first taste of in-conference action this season.
