Baseball Recap: Grayson County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Grayson County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the George Wythe Maroons on Tuesday. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by nine runs or more this season.

Makray Goad was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-5. He is becoming a predictor of Grayson County's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Zach Weatherman was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

Grayson County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Grayson County's record is now 6-4. As for George Wythe, they dropped their record down to 1-2 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Grayson County will challenge Galax at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for George Wythe, they will head out to challenge Rural Retreat at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
