The Milan Indians will head out to take on the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Milan has three straight victories, Jac-Cen-Del has 15 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Milan made easy work of Southwestern and carried off a 14-1 win. Considering the Indians have won 12 matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Kynadee Bode was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April.

05/12/25 vs Switzerland County | 2 |
05/05/25 @ South Ripley | 2 |

In other batting news, Caroline McMillan was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Voss, who went 2-for-4 with three runs.
Milan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .348 or higher in three consecutive contests.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Jac-Cen-Del and South Ripley have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Eagles fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 8-7.
Savannah Steele was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Taylor Swinney was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Jac-Cen-Del's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Milan, their record is now 17-8.
Jac-Cen-Del's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Milan has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Jac-Cen-Del, though, as they've been averaging only 2.5 strikeouts. Will Milan keep running through batters, or will the Eagles buck the trend?
Everything went Milan's way against Jac-Cen-Del in their previous matchup back in April, as Milan made off with a 19-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
