Softball Recap: Somerset Academy Has No Trouble Against Palmetto

While Somerset Academy put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Palmetto. Somerset Academy were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Palmetto. Somerset Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by eight runs or more this season.

Katie Bailey was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Sanchez, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Somerset Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Somerset Academy and bumps their season record up to 6-4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Palmetto, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Somerset Academy and Florida Christian will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field one another at 7:00 p.m. on April 1st. Palmetto will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Academy for Innovative Education at 7:00 p.m. on April 2nd.
