The De Beque Dragons will stay at home for another game and welcome the Ridgway Demons at 6:30 p.m. on February 8th. Hopefully De Beque is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ridgway in Colorado (De Beque is ranked 149th, while Ridgway is ranked 309th).
Last Saturday, everything went De Beque's way against Rangely as De Beque made off with a 63-42 victory. The win was just what De Beque needed coming off of a 56-26 defeat in their prior contest.
De Beque's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Scottie Vines led the charge by dropping a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vines has scored all season. Burke Largent was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Ridgway's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 76-44 defeat at the hands of Crested Butte. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ridgway in their matchups with Crested Butte: they've now lost four in a row.
De Beque has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Ridgway, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
De Beque was able to grind out a solid victory over Ridgway in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 50-41. Will De Beque repeat their success, or does Ridgway have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
