University Park were the 61-59 winner over the Douglas Tigers when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. University Park received a tough blow on Monday as they fell 65-49 to the Tigers. University Park has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Douglas got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Colton Howard out in front who scored 21 points. Howard is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 21 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Owen Gray, who scored 21 points.
University Park dropped their record down to 3-12 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Douglas, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. University Park will take on the Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Oxford is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Douglas, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Indians at 6:30 p.m. Bartlett will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while the Tigers are ranked 82nd).
