Davenport will challenge Liberty on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Davenport will be strutting in after a win while Liberty will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Davenport have had to suffer through a 3-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Kettle Falls 45-14. Davenport were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Meanwhile, after a big victory against Irrigon two weeks ago, Liberty came back down to earth. Liberty had victory within their grasp but couldn't quite capture it last Friday as the squad lost 20-21 to Northwest Christian School. The game was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but Liberty were outplayed the rest of the way.
Liberty's loss took them down to 1-3 while Davenport's victory pulled them up to 1-3. In their victory, Davenport relied heavily on junior Alex Plasensia, who rushed for 123 yards and 4 touchdowns. Liberty will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
