It was a good run, but the Gulf Coast Sharks unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 53-39 bruising from Charlotte. Gulf Coast was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Charlotte apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2016.
When it comes to explaining why Gulf Coast lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alex Mcdonough. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points. Mcdonough is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last six games she's played. Lilly Fultz was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Gulf Coast's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Charlotte, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Gulf Coast will be playing at home against Barron Collier at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Barron Collier's defense has only allowed 20.3 points per game this season, so Gulf Coast's offense will have their work cut out for Gulf Coast. As for Charlotte, they will head out on the road to face off against Evangelical Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
