Eastern's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenzie Degraaff, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Degraaff also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Appleton, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Cowan lost, one person who can't be blamed is Davelynn Lindsay. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cheyenne Carter, who scored six points.
Eastern's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Cowan, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Clinton Central at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Clinton Central is coming into the match hot, having won their last 11 games. As for Cowan, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Daleville at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Daleville is ranked 339th, while Cowan is ranked 341st).
