The Madison Warhawks and the Chaparral Pumas will face off at 11:00 a.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Madison is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last five matchups, Madison finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Maranatha, falling 50-23. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Madison has scored all season.
Madison's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Caleb Gleason, who scored eight points, and Eli Stevens who scored 12 points. Stevens scored a full 52.2% of Madison's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Chaparral took their match on the road on Saturday with ease, bagging a 63-30 win over Western.
Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Chaparral, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
Madison came up short against Chaparral in their previous matchup back in December of 2018, falling 54-50. Can Madison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
