Softball Recap: Sahuarita Wins Going Away Against Cholla

Sahuarita never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Cholla on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Mayrani Munoz was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Callie Fox was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Sahuarita always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cholla only posted an OBP of .062.

Sahuarita's victory bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Cholla, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.

Looking ahead, Sahuarita will face off against Ironwood Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cholla will be paying especially close attention to the Mustangs' matchup: after the Mustangs faces off against the Nighthawks, they'll take on Cholla again at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
