The Galileo Lions will be playing at home against the Balboa Buccaneers at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Galileo has not done well against Mission recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Galileo managed a 26-21 win over Mission. The win was just what Galileo needed coming off of a 40-7 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Balboa put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They breezed by Lowell at home to the tune of 55-14. The win made it back-to-back wins for Balboa.
Among those leading the charge was Dontee Allen-Wilson, who rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Allen-Wilson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards. Another player making a difference was Rylen Thien-jones, who threw for 102 yards and three touchdowns.
Galileo's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Balboa, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season.
