Spring Lake is a perfect 4-0 against Western Michigan Christian since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Spring Lake 2, Western Michigan Christian 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Spring Lake is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Michigan's top teams: Sparta, who was ranked 19th at the time (Spring Lake was ranked second). The Lakers didn't even let the Spartans on the board last Tuesday, marking the Lakers' second-straight 11-0 shutout. Considering the Lakers have won three contests by more than ten runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Western Michigan Christian fell victim to Unity Christian and their airtight pitching crew two weeks ago. They fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Warriors have suffered since May 9, 2024.

Western Michigan Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb McKay, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. That double marked the first that McKay hit this season.

Spring Lake's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Western Michigan Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
