Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coldspring-Oakhurst). They put the hurt on the Crockett Bulldogs with a sharp 20-2 victory on Friday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.
Trinity Rosales made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Coldspring-Oakhurst got a massive performance out of Ashney Minor, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Minor a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Krissie Bennett, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Coldspring-Oakhurst was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .615. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
